Privacy requests

Request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data.

This page explains how to submit a privacy-related request concerning personal information that may be associated with your use of Boba.guide or communications with the site.

Request overview

What privacy requests may be submitted?

Depending on applicable law and the information involved, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent or information about how certain personal data is handled.

Not every request or right applies in every jurisdiction or circumstance. We may retain information when required or permitted for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, recordkeeping or the protection of legitimate rights.

Available request types

Correction

Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information connected to you.

Deletion

Ask us to delete eligible personal information, subject to legal and operational exceptions.

Restriction

Ask us to limit certain processing when this right applies to the information and jurisdiction involved.

Objection or opt-out

Ask to object to or opt out of certain uses of personal information where an applicable right exists.

Withdraw consent

Withdraw consent for future processing that relies on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Information to include

What should a request contain?

  • Your full name
  • The email address associated with your contact or submission
  • The type of privacy request being made
  • A clear description of the information or interaction involved
  • Relevant page URLs, dates or message subjects when known
  • Your country and state or region of residence
  • Any information reasonably needed to verify identity or authority

Do not send excessive identification

Do not include passwords, payment-card information, full medical records, government identification numbers or unrelated private documents unless we specifically request information through an appropriate verification method.

How to submit

Where should a personal data request be sent?

Send your request to info@boba.guide with the subject line “Personal Data Request.”

Describe the request clearly and identify the email address, form submission, newsletter interaction, comment, business inquiry or other activity that may help us locate relevant records.

Authorized representatives

Can another person submit a request?

An authorized representative may submit a request where applicable, but we may require proof of authority and may need to verify the identity of the person whose information is involved.

We may contact the individual directly before completing a request unless applicable law permits another process.

Verification

How may identity be verified?

Email confirmation

We may ask you to respond from or confirm access to the email address connected to the relevant record.

Request details

We may ask for dates, page URLs, message subjects or other information already associated with the interaction.

Representative authority

Representatives may need to provide signed authorization or other evidence that they may act for the individual.

Proportionate verification

The verification level may depend on the sensitivity of the data and the action requested.

Security protection

We may decline to disclose information when identity cannot be reasonably verified.

No account assumption

Boba.guide may not maintain a registered user account or substantial record for every visitor.

What information may be found

What records might relate to a request?

Depending on how you used the site, relevant information may include contact messages, contributor proposals, correction requests, newsletter records, business submissions, consent records, technical logs, cookie-related data or other correspondence.

Some technical or analytics information may not be reasonably linkable to a named individual, especially when identifiers have expired, been aggregated or were never connected to a direct contact.

Third-party services

What if another provider controls the data?

Hosting, analytics, email, advertising, consent, security or embedded-service providers may process information under their own systems and responsibilities.

We may direct you to the relevant provider when Boba.guide does not control the record or cannot complete the requested action on the provider’s behalf.

Deletion and retention

Why might some information be retained?

Legal obligations

Information may be retained when necessary to comply with law, legal process or regulatory requirements.

Security

Technical records may be retained to investigate abuse, prevent fraud or protect the site and its users.

Disputes and rights

Records may be kept when reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Transactional records

Business, payment or contractual records may be retained according to applicable requirements and agreements.

Backups

Deleted information may remain temporarily in protected backups until those systems are overwritten or retired.

De-identified information

Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained when it no longer reasonably identifies an individual.

Response process

What happens after a request is received?

We may acknowledge receipt, verify identity, clarify the scope, search relevant systems, review applicable exceptions and provide a response or explanation.

Complex, broad, repeated or technically difficult requests may require additional time. When appropriate, we may ask you to narrow the request to the records most relevant to your concern.

Fees and excessive requests

Can a request be limited or refused?

Where permitted, we may decline or charge a reasonable fee for requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, repetitive, impossible to verify or intended to interfere with site operations.

Any decision will depend on the request, applicable law and the information reasonably available to us.

Appeals and follow-up

What if you disagree with the response?

You may reply with clarification, additional evidence or a request for reconsideration. Where applicable law provides a formal appeal or complaint process, the response may include relevant information.

No retaliation for valid requests

Boba.guide does not deny ordinary site access or editorial consideration merely because someone submits a good-faith privacy request. Separate decisions may still be made for security, abuse, legal or editorial reasons.
